When we talk about table one thing that comes to our mind is the centre or coffee buffet. It is generally placed in the centre of the sitting arrangement of the living room. Great care should be taken in selecting the centre table as the glass top is more popular than the wooden top. It should have shelf just below the top for keeping the magazines or the newspapers. The purpose of keeping it in the centre is to keep the teapots, saucers, telephone or specs etc. They come in different shapes but the round or rectangular shapes are the evergreen and universal choice.
Nearer our times tables started to vary. Although the purpose of eating left, tables are used in other practical and unpractical ways, for example to put map, computer or puzzles on it; as a piece of art and sometimes even as a place of sexual intercourse. All types of tables have their own unique names, shapes and functions like: low, designed for a living room, coffee tables; big drawing tables, for a technical drawings; chess tables, with a special boards to play, or small, standing against the wall console tables.
