When we talk about table one thing that comes to our mind is the centre or coffee buffet. It is generally placed in the centre of the sitting arrangement of the living room. Great care should be taken in selecting the centre table as the glass top is more popular than the wooden top. It should have shelf just below the top for keeping the magazines or the newspapers. The purpose of keeping it in the centre is to keep the teapots, saucers, telephone or specs etc. They come in different shapes but the round or rectangular shapes are the evergreen and universal choice.
Earlier, coffee tables were not called so. They were known as cocktail tables. This kind of says something about our nature of entertainment and the change it has gone through over the years, right?
It is a common belief that the family that eats together remains together. Even though there could be slight difference of opinions between the members if they sit on the dining table to settle the difference they can arrive at a solution which would benefit both. It has a wooden top which was widely used due to easy maintenance and also because of its scratch resistant quality. A cotton or laced table cloth can be used to cover the top to hide the flaws of the table. The dining surface with a glass top is more popular than the wooden top as it is easy to clean and also because it is stain resistant. A ceiling light just above the dining board would be ideal focal point for the room.
